Telemedicine at Northeast Texas Neurology Associates
This week we are transitioning over to all telemedicine or E-Visits. These are appointments with Dr. Jetter or Talesh that are done over a computer, tablet or phone. At this time, we have three options for telemedicine visits.
Options for Telemedicine
Over the Patient Portal - www.yourhealthfile.com
This is the preferred method as it is HIPAA compliant. To be able to do this, you need a computer with a camera and microphone or a tablet. This can not be done on a smart phone. For instructions on how to sign in for your visit through the portal, watch this video.
F aceTime with an iPhone
This is an option, but is not HIPAA compliant. If you choose to do a visit with FaceTime, the office will call you to initiate your visit.
Zoom - www.zoom.us
A third option is Zoom, which requires you to download an app on your phone or computer. We will send you an invitation through your email with a meeting ID that you will need to sign into your “meeting” or your appointment.
How to Prepare for your Appointment
To prepare for your visit, please do the following:
Please make sure your equipment (computer, tablet, phone) are working properly.
Make sure you are in a private location.
Please be in a well lit area with room to move. We may ask you to move around some in order to examine you.
Have all your questions written down beforehand.
Know what refills you need on your medication.
Cost of the Visit
The federal government has approved payment for telemedicine during the time of Covid. Therefore, if you have Medicare, the cost of the visit will be your normal responsibility as if you are being seen in the office.
If you have commercial insurance, we will collect $150 for new patients and $75 for follow-up visits before the visit. We will file with your insurance, and if they pay for the visit, we will credit your account any money owed after your-copay.
We will contact you before your appointment to explain all the details about cost, answer all your questions about the options for different platforms, and confirm we have your permission to perform a telemedicine visit.
